NCC Missions

The Church and Its Mission

Northfield Community Church’s Board of Missions represents the congregation in identifying, supporting, and working with mission partners and organizations. The Board annually reviews long-time and potentially new mission partners considering how NCC's vision and mission can help strengthen the organization by offering funding while also opening new opportunities for NCC's members and friends to have "hands-on" involvement and service opportunities. 10% of the congregation's pledges and offerings are set aside as the church's "mission tithe." In addition, the church donates holiday offerings, conducts fundraisers in support of local and worldwide missions, and distributes the St. Peter Legacy in Mission Fund as grants totaling $80,000 annually.

October 16, 2022 All the members and friends of NCC are invited to participate as Team NCC to make this event a success once again. This is NCC’s 18th consecutive year serving the needs of so many in need, both locally and globally. Each year the proceeds from all Walks nationwide are distributed in this way: 25% to local hunger agencies and 75% to Church World Service, a faith-based international relief agency founded January 1, 1946. For over seven decades CWS has one goal: “Building a world where there is enough for all.” In addition to the amount that goes to CWS, 25% of NCC’s proceeds go to these 3 local hunger agencies: Northfield Township Food Pantry (15%), The Hunger Resource Net- work (5%) and A Just Harvest (5%). Does NCC’s effort really make a difference? Look at NCC’s results in our last four years (rounded to nearest $25). Pre-pandemic years: 2018, $27,475 and 2019, $28,025. Pandemic years: 2020, $24,850 and 2021, $26,725. To put this in a national perspective, CWS tracks the top 100 Teams. NCC’s rank each year in order: #3, #3, #4, #5. Bear in mind that Team NCC is only one Team in our Glenbrook Walk. Also, consider the following facts. As of this writing, Wed 9/21/2022, CWS has registered almost 2,200 Teams and counting for this year’s events. Your NCC four-year total of $107,075 does indeed make an impact. Your continuing generosity, caring and love has been the driving force for us. We must continue our efforts to provide what we’ve been doing. So many people need help. We can make a dent in the fight to end hunger. Together we can do this. Be a Walker! Be a Donor! Go to Team NCC’s webpage: https://events.crophungerwalk.org/2022/team/northfield- community-church Select the “Join” button, and/or “Donate” button. Please scroll down to the Walker list and support one of them!
