Blessing of the Animals 2025

Saturday, October 4th at 10:00 a.m.

Meet in the colonnades (east side of the building) for Blessing of the Animals! Bring your pet, or an item or picture of your pet and join in the ceremony featuring the traditional blessing of St. Francis.

The Feast of St. Francis Day is observed each year on October 4th. On this day, or a day during this week, congregations around the world invite their parishioners and people in their communities to bring their pets to be blessed.

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek

to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

There will be treats for pets and their people.

Come as you are, no reservation needed!
