We just completed our first clinic at the Niles Senior Center. What a terrific facility! Darren Brown, Director of Family Services, and Milcah Baraona, Activitiy Coordinator (and long time DAD volunteer), were  our primary contacts and made sure all the pieces fell together to make the clinic a success.

We're pleased to report 2 new dentists and 3 new hygienists joined us to provide care.  If you are, or know a dentist that may be interested in working with us, please forward this to them and encourage them to volunteer for a day of service .  Click Here to Volunteer

Our Partners

The Niles Senior Center is managed and funded by the Village of Niles The Center shares its facility with  Niles Family Services and the Niles Fitness Center. Niles Family Services has a staff of eleven that has been "Healing Hearts and Changing Lives" for 50 years.

In addition to Niles Family Services we also drew patients from the following agencies : A Just Harvest , Howard Area Community Center.
Sarah's  C ircle,  Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare, Thresholds, The Salvation Army,  Heartland Alliance,  McGaw YMCA, and Levy Senior Center.

We partnered again with MidWest University Dental School and their Chapter of the American Student Dental Association. Shilpa Joshi connected us to Rita Raffoul who managed Saturday Triage.

Jan Salvadorini Program Clinic Coordinator at College of Lake County sent hygiene students to assist our providers and help with x-rays.
New Sponsors supported our effort

One of the biggest stories for this clinic was acquiring a new Dexis x-ray sensor and display software. The funding for the acquisition was provided jointly by the Illinois State Dental Society Foundation and the Chicago Dental Society Foundation in conjunction with the Wrigley Foundation. It was purchased through MidWay dental and was one of their first installs.

These two great companies again made a huge difference by helping us keep our costs down. Aundrea Hoffman not only coordinated Kulzer's donation but also attended both day's clinics and helped out with sterilization and instrument re-stocking. David Yoakim at Midway made sure we got even our last minute order delivered so all of our providers had what they needed. If you buy what they sell, please help them help us by making a purchase.

Here's the whole group that makes what we do possible:

Special Thanks

Kimbra Bloom did another amazing job this clinic improving our supply inventory, managing our instruments and sterilization, etc. Kimbra is shown here with our Head Hygiene Honcho, Lisa Schmidt.

Our results

Next Clinic - April 17th & 18th 2020

Our next clinic date will be April 17 & 18 at a yet to be determined location. Our hope is to provide care for veterans associated with the Lovell Federal Health Care Center, a veterans hospital in North Chicago. We had quite a few people at this last clinic that have connections there but nothing is definite at present.
Helping one person may not change the world,
but it may change the world for one person.
